Drew McIntyre Says It Was Amazing To Spend Nearly Three Months Under Russell Crowe’s Learning Tree

Drew McIntyre has learned quite a bit from Russell Crowe.
Crowe and McIntyre will share the screen in two upcoming films — ‘Highlander’ and ‘The Last Druid’. After spending months with him, McIntyre now considers the legendary actor to be one of his mentors.
“I mean, that’s a career — I don’t think many people are going to be able to achieve the level that Russell is at. But, yeah, he’s a mentor for sure.” McIntyre said in a new interview with Collider. “I spent 12 weeks with him, I met him on Highlander. I saw a particular scene with Henry and Russell, I was asking a lot of questions with Chad. I stayed for like four hours extra just to watch two of the best in action, just asking a lot. Then I met Russell, spent some time talking with him. I was at home once I’d finished Highlander and I got a call from my agents, they said, ‘Russell Crowe called, he wants you to be part of a movie.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’m sure he did’ and hung up. They called back and said, ‘No, no, we’re serious.’ I had to get proper confirmation from the man himself before I went to WWE and said, ‘Is this something that would be possible?’ Thankfully, Nick Khan and Triple H, they both looked at it and saw it as a huge opportunity and approved me to go over. Spending nearly three months with Russell under the learning tree was amazing, incredible things I can apply not just on screen but to our WWE product as well. Lessons in life as well. He really has seen a lot and done a lot in this life.”
McIntyre finished off the conversation by revealing that Russell Crowe gifted him his very first watch.
In a separate interview, Drew recently stated that he’s focused on “Hollywood Drew” right now. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
