Mike Bailey: I Think My Greatest Accomplishment In Pro Wrestling Is Constant Progress
Mike Bailey reflects on his first match with Mustafa Ali.
Prestige Wrestling hosted their first encounter in February 2024. The widely acclaimed bout took place at the promotion’s A Moment Of Violence show in Los Angeles, California.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Bailey talked about the match and his TNA program with Ali.
“That match with Mustafa Ali, it was our first meeting. I don’t remember if he had joined TNA at the time.
The first meeting of myself and Mustafa Ali, we would go on to have a nice little program together in a
promotion called TNA Wrestling. After that, including a great match in Montreal for the X-Division
Championship that featured Earl Hebner. But I think this is raw pro wrestling. I think my greatest
accomplishment in pro wrestling is constant progress and I always think that my best match is my last
match. This was a very late, very recent, long independent wrestling main event. There is a certain
advantage to not being on television, right? Of course there’s loads of disadvantages as well. But this was a match where we had little to no restrictions and despite wrestling together for the first time, we were just able to go out there and have a very long match caring about absolutely nothing, but just having a banger. That’s I think why it was so well received.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Bailey listed out some of the pros and cons of wrestling barefoot. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
