Austin Creed Feels Most Important Match That New Day Had As A Team Was Securing Kofi’s WWE Title Match At WrestleMania 35

Austin Creed discusses the past and looks ahead to the future.

As of this writing, it is coming up on a full month since The New Level (Kofi & Austin Creed) arrived at All Elite Wrestling. Alongside Swerve Strickland, they are in the midst of a reign as the AEW World Trios Champions.

A new interview with Creed and Kofi was conducted by Cameron Hawkins of Uncrowned. Looking back on their time as The New Day with Big E, Creed feels the most important match they had was in the lead-up to WrestleMania 35 when they secured Kofi’s shot at the WWE Championship.

“I think with my definition (of important),” he says, “the most important match that we’ve had as a team was when me and (Big) E won that match to get Kofi a title shot.”

As for the present, Creed talked about venturing into All Elite Wrestling.

“(Swerve Strickland) goes, ‘Look, if we jump in this trios, you get a chance to wrestle, what, six, seven other tag teams right from the jump at Wembley,” says Creed. “So logically, well, of course we want to put hands on everybody as quick as we can, and now by winning those titles, we beat a bunch of other very credible, very good tag teams that AEW has to offer, and so it’s about making sure that we are getting the reps with all of these people on the roster, and having the most dangerous man in all of AEW at our side while we’re doing that, with Prince Nana as well.”

On October 17th at AEW WrestleDream, Creed, Kofi, and Strickland will defend the Trios Titles against Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King in a two-out-of-three falls match.
