Will Ospreay Wins Clockwork Carnage Match To Retain AEW World Championship At WrestleDream

Will Ospreay remains AEW World Champion.

The main event of the 2026 AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view was the Clockwork Carnage match for the AEW World Championship. Will Ospreay put the title on the line against Kazuchika Okada, Samoa Joe, ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, Konosuke Takeshita, Ricochet, and Darby Allin.

Below were the rules for the bout:

  • 2 wrestlers start the match, selected at random
  • Every 3 minutes, another randomly selected wrestler enters
  • Until all 8 wrestlers have entered, any wrestler who is pinned or submitted is eliminated
  • Once the final wrestler enters, all remaining wrestlers enter a 15-minute scoring phase
  • During those 15 minutes, every pinfall or submission scores one fall
  • When time expires, the wrestler with the most falls wins

Ospreay drew #1, and Takeshita was #2. Entering at #3 was Bailey, and then coming in at #4 was Ricochet. The number #5 spot belonged to TNT Champion Darby Allin, and then at #6 was AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada.

Takeshita eliminated Bailey from the match. Adam Copeland came in at #7, and the crowd sang his theme music all the way through even though it was no longer playing.

Okada eliminated Takeshita from the match, and the last entrant was Samoa Joe. The second phase of the match began with the 15-minute scoring period with Joe, Ospreay, Okada, Copeland, Allin, and Ricochet. Here were the final results:

  • Will Ospreay (3)
  • Darby Allin (2)
  • Samoa Joe (2)
  • Adam Copeland (2)
  • Ricochet (1)
  • Kazuchika Okada (1)

Ospreay pinned Copeland with seconds remaining to retain the AEW World Championship. Post-match, Copeland and Ospreay shook hands.
