Daniels’ and Styles’ careers have been linked throughout their time as in ring competitors, with both men now being retired from full time in ring competition. The pair would also team together in TNA and elsewhere, putting on incredible matches both as opponents and tag team partners.
While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Christopher Daniels was asked for good AJ Styles stories.
“All good AJ Styles stories, man. Every time I got to wrestle him was a pleasure. I wrestled him all around the world. I tagged with him all around the world.”
Daniels continued, noting that he saw greatness in AJ early on in his career.
“I saw greatness in him early on. Before TNA was a thing, I got to wrestle him at the NWA tournament, 53rd anniversary show. That was the first time I ever wrestled him. You could tell that day that he was going to be something special. Once TNA started, he was there from the very beginning, and he became world champion almost within the first year, and I feel like that was the beginning of a career that’s Hall of Fame worthy.”
Following AJ’s retirement from pro wrestling earlier this year, Daniels would pay tribute to Styles’ in ring career. You can read more about that here.
