Yota Tsuji has reacted to Callum Newman’s recent comments about the ‘new era of strong style’, noting he doesn’t question his style.

Recently Callum Newman would fire a shot at not only Yota but Yuta-Ice as well, with the United Empire leader questioning the new version of ‘strong style’ wrestling, and now the IWGP Heavyweight Champion

While speaking to Fightful’s In The Weeds, Yota Tsuji would react to Newman’s recent comments, pointing to each member of the NJPW roster having their own unique style.

“So I honestly appreciate that, you know, the guys like Callum Newman, who does all kinds of athletic moves, kind of questions, you know, the recent kind of movement in the New Japan roster that we are kind of, going towards more of the traditional moves, rather than these acrobatic, athletic moves. I think he is just like everybody else in the New Japan roster, they have they each have a unique fighting style to express themselves and but all the goals we have is to have a win. So I can’t question myself as well as what strong style is, and I don’t think anyone can have the definite answer of what it is, including myself. But for sure, the idea is that you have to win in the end, and the pro wrestling that we do is as simple as that. that the winner takes all. So whatever it takes to have secured win, I think that should be what strong style is. So I accept the Newman’s comment and I understand why he’s saying that, but you know, that’s what it is, and I think it’s good to have everybody’s own unique style, just all going to try and secure the win is what the New Japan Pro Wrestling is.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Yota spoke about his upcoming appearance with MLW. You can read more about that here.
