Alexander Gustafsson Still Wants Rematch With Jon Jones

Alexander Gustafsson will be headlining the upcoming UFC Fight Night 109 card against fellow top 5 light heavyweight Glover Teixeira.

If Gustafsson gets the win over Teixeira, the fighter would put together his first winning streak in almost four years.

“It’s been frustrating,” Gustafsson said backstage at UFC Fight Night 107. “I want to be competing all the time if I could. I have a good fight in front of me (against Teixeira), and I can’t wait to step in there and win. I’m feeling exactly how I should feel. I train hard, feel good. I love training, I train every day. It’s no question about not training or not competing. This is what I do, this is what I love to do, so I’m going to keep doing it for a long time.”

Gustafsson is also a former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Title challenger, dropping both of those bouts to Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones. Speaking of Jones, the “Mauler” wouldn’t mind one more shot against the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

“I’m always interested to fight Jon Jones, of course,” Gustafsson said. “Let’s make the number two.”

UFC Fight Night 109 takes place on Saturday, May 28 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
