Bantamweight Title Bout Headlining CWFC 86

The Cage Warriors Bantamweight Title is going to be defending in the main event of CWFC 86 as champion Nathaniel Wood is defending the gold against Josh Reed.

Wood (11-3-0) is going to be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Marko Kovacevic at CWFC 84. Wood has won all three of his fights that took place under the CWFC banner, including a victory over UFC veteran Vaughan Lee at CWFC 82. Wood also competed once in Bellator MMA, having defeated Chase Morton by third round submission at Bellator 158.

Reed (7-0-0) has already competed three times in Cage Warriors, defeating the trio of Ben Rees, Martin Sheridan and Gavin Kelly. Reed has only seen one of his seven professional MMA fights go the distance, that came against the aforementioned Martin Sheridan at CWFC 79. Reed also competed in Cage Warriors as an amateur MMA fighter, having defeated Marley Bennett at CWFC 54 in May 2013.

Cage Warriors 86 takes place on Saturday, September 16 from the Indigo At The 02 in London, England with Nathaniel Wood and Josh Reed headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
