Battle Of UFC Vets Added To Bellator 181

A middleweight division attraction is the latest addition to the Bellator 181 card as Kendall Grove is going to be in action against John Salter.

Grove (23-16-0-1NC) has won two of his last three in Bellator MMA, with those two wins coming over Joey Beltran and Francisco France. Grove has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Middleweight Title, losing to then champion Brandon Halsey at Bellator 137. Grove was also the middleweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 3, defeating Ed Herman in the finals of the reality show.

Salter (13-3-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA, having defeated Brandon Halsey, Dustin Jacoby and Claudio Annicchiarico. Salter won just one of three fights during his UFC tenure, with that lone victory coming over the now retired Jason MacDonald at UFC 113 in May 2010. Salter hasn’t suffered a loss in just about five years time, with that last defeat coming at the hands of Reggie Pena at Xtreme Fighting Championships 18 in June 2012.

Bellator 181 takes place on Friday, July 14 from the Winstar World Casino on Thackerville, Oklahoma with Patricky Freire and Derek Campso headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
