Becky Lynch Would Welcome Ronda Rousey If She's "Doing It For The Right Reasons"

Former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is training to become a professional wrestler, as Fightful reported exclusively earlier this month. Former SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch told Al Arabiya English that Rousey would be welcomed into the WWE locker room, provided she's there "for the right reasons."

“I feel like if it’s going to get more eyes on us, then that’s wonderful. What I want to see is women who are passionate about this, and that they’re doing it for the right reasons, and that they care about this business because we have been busting our tails for the past four years to make sure that women are seen in a different way and women are seen in a different light. And of course, Ronda, with all she’s done for UFC, would be a great asset. I can’t diminish her accomplishments at all because she’s incredible in her own right. But this is our sport, and coming in here you have to prove yourself in a whole different way.”

Lynch was in attendance at the Mae Young Classic along with Bayley and Charlotte, and got into it at ringside with competitor Shayna Baszler, a good friend of Rousey's, leading to speculation of an upcoming feud between two groups of "Horsewomen." The WWE group, of course, features Charlotte, Bayley, Becky and Sasha (who was not at the MYC taping because she was promoting an upcoming WWE tour in Australia) and the MMA group features Rousey, Baszler, Jessamyn Dukes (also training, with Rousey, to become a pro wrestler) and Marina Shafir, who is engaged to current NXT superstar Roderick Strong.

Whether such a feud ever actually takes place is yet to be seen, but if it does, it looks like one wrestling Horsewoman is champing at the bit.
