Borg vs. Moreno Moved To UFC 223

A flyweight division battle between Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno, originally set for UFC Fight Night Austin, has been moved to UFC 223.

The reason behind the move was that Moreno suffered an injury, so UFC officials decided to move the bout instead of canceling it altogether.

Borg (11-3-0) is going to be competing for the first time since losing his UFC Flyweight Title shot to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216. Borg has earned a total of five wins under the UFC banner and only two of those wins came over ranked opposition. Borg has also gotten his last three wins by way of decision and it has been nearly three years since he got a win via finish.

Moreno (14-4-0) is looking to rebound from his first loss in the UFC, which came against Sergio Pettis in the main event of UFC Fight Night Mexico City. Moreno also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24, losing to Alexandre Pantoja in the opening round of the reality show. Moreno is also a longtime veteran of the World Fighting Federation promotion, winning all five fights he fought there.

UFC 223 takes place on Saturday, April 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
