Exclusive: Jason Moloney Talks June 15 Fight In Australia, Predicts A KO Win

Jason Moloney has bounced back nicely in his first fight since a world title loss against Emmanuel Rodriguez and will now look to continue his momentum as bigger fights await him.

The 28-year-old Australian will be taking on Cesar Ramirez on June 15 on a boxing card in Moloney's native country. The fight would be Moloney's last before he is set to fight under the Top Rank banner after he signed a promotional deal with Bob Arum's company.

But with a U.S. return looming ahead, Moloney wants to showcase his skills against what he believes to be a tough opponent in Ramirez. In an exclusive interview with Fightful, Moloney spoke about wanting to do well and come out on top as he looks to get back into title contention. Moloney is currently ranked in the top six on all four major governing bodies at bantamweight and is looking at a potential world title opportunity down the road after beating Ramirez.

"I’m expecting a tough fight from Ramirez. He has only three defeats which are all against very good, undefeated fighters and he is on a solid win streak himself. I’m sure he is training very hard for this opportunity but I’m very focused and I’ll be prepared for whatever he brings. I’m really determined to have an impressive win against Ramirez," Moloney said.

As far as a prediction is concerned, Moloney believes he could end this fight with an impressive knockout in the seventh round. Moloney's last four wins all came from inside seven rounds with two of those wins taking place in the third round or sooner.

"[Ramirez] has proven to be a very tough and durable fighter but I’d like to make a statement and take him out inside the distance. I don’t think he will be able to keep up with my pace. I’ll predict a KO round seven," Moloney said.

The fight between Moloney and Ramirez will take place in New South Wales, Australia on June 15 with the card also featuring Jason's brother Andrew in action. Andrew will face Ruben Montoya for the WBA Oceania title.
