Heavyweight Contender Otto Wallin Signs Promotional Deal, U.S. Debut Set

Otto Wallin, one of boxing's top rising heavyweight contenders, is taking the next step in his career and making the jump to fight in the United States.

Salita Promotions announced it has signed the undefeated heavyweight from Sweden to a promotional contract and his next fight has been announced. It will take place on April 13 in Atlantic City, New Jersey and it will be the first time Wallin fights professionally in the United States after training there at times throughout the past two years.

Wallin has won all 20 of his pro bouts with 13 of those wins coming from inside the distance since making his debut back in 2013. Wallin won the EBU European Union title in his last fight against Adrian Granat in April 2018 and was a former WBA Continental heavyweight titleholder when he won the belt in 2017. The 28-year-old Wallin is currently ranked No. 5 by both the WBA and the IBF at heavyweight.

"I´ve had good years fighting in Europe and now it´s time for the second part of my career. After meeting and talking to Dmitriy Salita, I feel comfortable that he's the right person to develop me and turn me into a world champion, which is my ultimate goal," Wallin said in a press release sent to Fightful.

The April 13 card will be headlined by a fight between Claressa Shields and Christina Hammer for the undisputed WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF Female middleweight title. The main card will be televised on Showtime.
