Holly Holm vs. Stephanie Han Boxing Fight Stopped Due To Cut on Han’s Forehead

The fight went straight to the scorecards.

There was a boxing event on January 3rd that was co-headlined by a WBA Lightweight Championship bout between the champion Stephanie Han and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm.

The bout was scheduled to go 10 rounds, but it did not go the distance because in round seven at the 1:44 mark, a cut on Han’s forehead caused a ringside doctor to put an end to the fight. It was caused by an ‘accidental headbutt.’

The fight was past the halfway point, so it went to the scorecards as opposed to ending in a no-contest. Holm lost via technical decision, and the judges’ scorecards read: 68-65, 69-64, and 68-65.

In her post-fight interview, Holm said not being able to finish was the toughest part of it all. Han was not pleased with how the fight ended and offered to give Holm an immediate rematch, to which Holm reacted positively.

Holm’s boxing background includes a 34-2 record with nine knockouts. She returned to boxing under Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. She won her June 2025 bout against Yolanda Ochoa via unanimous decision.
