Katie Taylor Defeats Amanda Serrano By Majority Decision In Trilogy Bout

Katie Taylor goes 3-0 over Amana Serrano.

Katie Taylor goes 3-0 against Amanda Serrano.

On July 11th, Taylor and Serrano would meat in the ring for the third time. With Taylor carrying the trilogy advantage at 2-0, the pair would go to war one more time at Madison Square Garden. With the WBO, WBC, IBF and WBA 140lb titles on the line and a special presentation on Netflix, the stakes were understandably high.

Much like the fights prior to this one, Taylor and Serrano would fight to a decision that was close to say the least. Unlike their previous two fights however, Serrano did not hurt Taylor significantly. In the end, Katie Taylor would win the bout via majority decision. The scorecards would read as 97-93 Taylor for two of the three judges, with the third providing a score of 95-95.

The trilogy bout is set to be the final matchup between the pair, with Taylor noting after the bout that she doesn’t want to fight Amanda again, as she hits too hard. Both women would share respect to each other following the result.
