Nick Khan Says Major Media Conglomerates Got Out Of Boxing Because ‘There Was No Return On Their Investment’

Khan offers his thoughts on the state of boxing.
The subject of an April 22nd Senate committee hearing was the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act. Zuffa Boxing executive and WWE President Nick Khan was one of the speakers at the hearing.
While discussing the state of modern-day pro boxing, Khan shared that a lot of the major media conglomerations got out of presenting boxing because there was no return on their investment.
“Outside of the deal we at Zuffa were able to get with Paramount, there’s no boxing in the history of television on any major media conglomerate. FOX got out, ESPN got out, Showtime got out, HBO got out, NBC got out, ABC got out, CBS got out. What was formerly known as Spike TV got out… They got out because ultimately, there was no return on their investment.”
