Ryan Garcia may step in to fight Jake Paul later this year.
Gervonta Davis was originally scheduled to face off with Paul in a bout on November 14th and was to stream on Netflix, however, following a civil suit alleging Davis had abducted and abused a cocktail waitress inside a Miami strip club earlier this year. Due to these allegations, the bout with Davis is in question, and now it seems that Paul’s team are looking elsewhere for an opponent.
Now, a new report has shed some light on the possibility of a replacement bout. Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix noted that two sources had confirmed to him that Paul’s representatives had offered a bout to Ryan Garcia for December, noting that they are aggressively pursuing other possible opponents in the interim.

In a string of now deleted social media posts in September, Gervonta Davis noted that ‘boxing was dead’ and he would be retiring from the sport of boxing following his proposed bout with Paul. You can read more about that here.
Last year, Garcia accepted a one year suspension following a failed drug test, with his bout with Davin Haney ruled a no contest due to the failure. You can read more about that here.
