Brad Tavares Fighting Elias Theodorou To Prove Video Game Wrong

Brad Tavares is just a few months away from facing Fightful’s own Elias Theodorou at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale.

The Hawaiian fighter wanted to fight Theodorou in order to prove the Ea UFC 2 video game ratings wrong.

“I was like, ‘Hell no,'” Tavares told MMA Junkie Radio. “I remember when that first came out. I was like, ‘I want to fight this guy. This guy should not be rated better than me.’ They made me heavyweight, barroom-brawler slow. I’m not saying he’s not a good fighter. He’s one of those guys like a Dan Kelly. You look at them or the matchup, and you’re like, ‘No way.’ And these guys pull it off.”

For the record, the overall fighter rating for Theodorou on UFC 2 is 88 and the overall rating for Tavares is 85.

While the video game realm ultimate doesn’t matter in the end, the Hawaiian still wants to prove he’s better than Theodorou in real life.

“I’m going to get my chance to prove, not only the game, but in real life,” Tavares said.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale is taking place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
