UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt is currently filming the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 alongside former bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.
Garbrandt, who won the belt from Dominick Cruz, is of the opinion that he broke the former title holder.
“I feel like Dominick doesn’t [have a fighter’s heart],” Garbrandt said during TUF 25 Media Day. “I think I broke Dominick in that fight and truly don’t think Dominick will be the same.”
Once the TUF 25 season is done filming, Garbrandt will be defending the gold against Dillashaw at a yet to be named UFC event. One thing that surprised Garbrandt during his UFC 207 bout against Cruz is the amount of trash talking that Cruz did leading up to the fight.
“I was very surprised with Dominick, all the sh*t talking he did,” Garbrandt said. “What he said he was gonna do to me, he wasn’t able to do that, so I was just waiting for him to get the rematch. Give him the rematch, give him the respect for being the most dominant bantamweight fighter in the world. If I talked a lot of sh*t and kid comes and beats me up like that, I’d at least try again, because I have a fighter heart.”
Garbrandt is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, with a record that stands at 11-0-0.
