Colby Covington Says Magny vs. Dos Anjos An Embarrassment Tour Elimination Bout

Welterweight fighter Colby Covington is coming off of the biggest win of his professional MMA career, having defeated top 10 ranked Dong Hyun Kim by decision at UFC Fight Night: Singapore.

As far as the upcoming bout between Neil Magny and former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos, the rising welterweight feels that the fight is simply an embarrassment tour elimination fight.

“It’s an embarrassment-tour elimination bout,” Covington told Bloody Elbow. “Real winner is whoever loses and runs off to hide from me in Bellator. Winner gets to wait their turn to be embarrassed.”

Magny is returning to action after a near year absence, while Dos Anjos is currently undefeated thus far in the welterweight division.

Even though he isn’t a fan of the upcoming encounter at UFC 215, the welterweight contender still has a prediction.

“It’s a pretty even fight between two guys at the end of their careers. But probably RDA,” he said.

UFC 215 takes place on Saturday, September 9 from Rogers Place on Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
