Cruiserweight Championship Match Set For First Raw Of 2018

Cedric Alexander gets his Cruiserweight Championship match, but will have to wait until 2018 to do so.

WWE announced that Alexander will vie for the title against champion Enzo Amore on January 1st's episode of WWE Raw.

Drew Gulak and Cedric Alexander both originally won fatal four way matches to advance into this singles match tonight to determine the next challenger for the title, and Alexander emerged victorious.

Rich Swann was supposed to be in the top contender match against, against Gulak. The weekend before, however, he was arrested for battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment. He is out on bail while the investigation into the case continues and was suspended by WWE the following day. With Swann out of the picture, Alexander, who originally lost, was given a second opportunity in another fatal four way after Swann's arrest.
