Tonight we start Round 2 with two terrific matchups:
Tajiri vs Gran Metalik
and
Kota Ibushi vs Cedric Alexander
That last one is said to have torn the house down. People were calling it the greatest match in the history of Full Sail.
Get Hyped, people.
Here we go.
Tajiri vs Gran Metalik
Metalik comes out in an amazing shimmery white and gold cape with a huge dragon-like collar. It's awesome.
Chain wrestling to start, until Metalik headstands out of a headscissors.
More chain wrestling, lots of armdrag counters into a stalemate.
This is dope.
Tajiri puts Metalik into a grounded Octopus, which is reversed into an ankle lock.
Back and forth and back and forth.
Metalik connects with a running flying headscissor takedown and Tajiri rolls to the outside. Metalik follows with a baseball slide, then hits a superkick. Tajiri rolls back into the ring, then back out. Metalik is turned around and confused and eats a buzzsaw kick.
Tajiri in control now, sleeperholds and headscissor holds. Then there's kicks and chopsback and forth. A springboard dropkick from Metalik, then a tightrope somersault plancha to the outside.
Wow.
"CEE-DUB-CEE! CEE-DUB-CEE! CEE-DUB-CEE! CEE-DUB-CEE! CEE-DUB-CEE! CEE-DUB-CEE!"
A dragon screw to Tajiri's leg in the ropes, a tightrope elbow drop for a two count. Metalik hits a sprinboard back elbow.
But Tajiri hits a sudden back kick to the face, puts Metalik in the tree of woe, then hits a baseball slide kick to the face. 2 count.
Another kick from Tajiri, Metalik answers in kind, and goes for the hurricanrana from the second rope, but Tajiri reverses it into a pinning powerbomb. 2 count.
Tajiri misses the Buzzsaw kick, and four or five moves later Gran Metalik hits the Metalik Driver (a Sitout Pinning Samoan Driver-esque move that looks frigging SICK).
1-2-3.
WINNER: Gran Metalik by Pinfall.
Kota Ibushi vs Cedric Alexander
Kota is out first to a nice pop, and an "EE-BOO-SHEE!" chant.
Cedric comes out next and he looks CUT.
GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS.
They start slow, a lot of trading of wrist- and headlocks, but still the crowd is giving them "Let's go Cedric!" ... "Ibushi!" chants.
Dodged kick after counter after reversed pinning predicament. These two are GREAT.
We're now like five minutes in, basically nothing has happened, and it's FANTASTIC.
Cedric hits a back elbow and Ibushi repays him with a huge kick to the chest.
Missile dropkick from Ibushi and Cedric rolls to the outside.
Ibushi tries his Golden Star Moonsault but misses. Cedric back into the ring as quick as you please, runs the ropes and his an awesome tope con hiro.
Kota gets rolled back into the ring, and Cedric hits an EPIC springboard flying clothesline.
TWO COUNT.
Chops and kicks back and forth until Cedric hits a chop to the jaw that drops Kota.
TWO COUNT.
Kota blocks an attempt at Cedric's finisher, The Lumbar Check, goes behind, shoves Cedric into the ropes and hits a dropkick that I'm pretty sure could be heard in Miami.
Strong style duelling forearms now. Hope they have good dental insurance.
A flurry of kicks and stikes from Kota, then he hits an insane standing twisting moonsault.
TWO COUNT.
Exploder Suplex from Ibushi, Cedric rolls to the outside.
IBUSHI HITS A RUNNING TOP ROPE MOONSAULT THING THAT MAKES MY HEAD EXPLODE.
my head is exploded now
The audience breaks out the "Fight Forever" chant. I agree with them
Ibushi rolls Cedric back into the ring, gets a two count, then goes for the Golden Star Bomb.
Cedric blocks it, shoves Ibushi into the ropes, picks him up for a Michinoku Driver.
TWO COUNT.
Ibushi goes for a top rope Frankensteiner, CEDRIC LANDS ON HIS FEET.
Running forearm from Cedric. Pele kick from Kota.
Again Kota goes for the Goldenstar Bomb, Cedric slips out of it, goes behind, shoves Ibushi into the corner, hits a running step up Enzuigiri, BRAINBUSTER.
TWO COUNT.
IMMEDIATE ROUNDHOUSE BACK-KICK TO KNEELING IBUSHI'S FACE.
TWO COUNT.

"CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC! CEDRIC!"
"THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME!"
Cedric goes up top for a Frog Splash? Double Foot Stomp? Regardless, Kota moves, Cedric lands it into a somersault,
and Kota GOES RIGHT INTO A SNAP RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX,
THEN RIGHT INTO A ROUND HOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD,
THEN GOLDEN STAR BOMB.

There's an amazing moment at the end where the crowd is chanting "Please Sign Cedric!" and he's standing there, crying tears of gratitude, and HHH comes out from Gorilla position, says "Okay," and offers the kid a handshake. He puts his arm around Cedric and they head to the back together. The crowd starts a "Yes!" chant.
I love wrestling.
