CSAC Holding Stakeholders Meeting On July 27, Fighters Invited To Attend

Two days before the historic UFC 214 card in California, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) is holding a stakeholders meeting.

Members of the CSAC are hoping they can get as many MMA fighters to attend the meeting as they can, because this meeting is being put together so the commission can help the fighters.

“We want the fighters to know this is all about them,” CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster said to MMA Fighting. “I’m not being stupid about that. I spend a lot of my time trying to think of ways that I could help them. We’ve gotta know what they’re feeling, what they think.”

Although fighters have been invited to the meeting, there is no set agenda for just what topics the CSAC and the fighters are going to be addressed.

One big goal that Foster has is to open up the lines of communication between the fighters and the commission.

“I keep seeing fighters, they have different issues that they’re always talking about,” Foster said. “They’ve not communicated to the regulators any of these problems. I deal with promoters all the time, which is appropriate. But with boxers, if they have an issue, I hear about it. I hear about it with them. I have a whole file full of arbitrations.”
