CSAC Holds Weigh-In For UFC 214 Title Fight Combatants

MMA

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) recently passed a new 10 point weight cutting measure, with one of those points being that fighters would have to weigh-in a month before their fights.

This is being done so fighters and the CSAC can make sure the weight cutting is going well and the fighters remain as healthy as can be.

UFC 300 Weigh Ins

Well, history was made on June 29 because all six fighters who are competing in title fights at UFC 214 (Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones, Cyborg, Tonya Evinger, Tyron Woodley & Damien Maia) all took part in the early weigh ins.

All six fighters weighed in via Face Time and all six fighters have passed the inaugural weigh in from the CSAC.

Although all fighters did pass, their weights are not going to be revealed by the CSAC.

“We are so pleased with the cooperation from the camps and the fighters,” CSAC Executive Officer Andy Foster said to MMA Fighting. “This was not some kind of small undertaking and everyone was very helpful in getting it done.”

UFC 214 takes place on Saturday, July 29 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
