Dana White Says Floyd Mayweather Jr. Will Struggle Against Conor McGregor

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has been scheming to get a super fight against legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. for quite some time now.

Although the fight has yet to come together, the UFC President in Dana White recently discussed the struggles the boxer could face against the lightweight champion.

White discussed this during a video segment on Snoop Dog’s “Merry Jane” show, which is a part of a cannabis culture website.

“At the end of the day it’s a fight,” White said. “Floyd Mayweather is 40 years old; Conor McGregor is 27. Conor’s a big dude. Floyd has trouble with southpaws; Conor McGregor is a southpaw. And Conor McGregor hits like a truck. When he hits you, you know it. So, in no way, shape or form am I saying Conor McGregor wins this fight. I don’t know. But it’s more interesting than people think it is. … I promise you Conor McGregor will hit him. When they fight (Mayweather) will get hit, and it will be interesting to see what happens.”

The UFC President has become more vocal about the super fight in recent weeks, even giving an estimate of the purses each fighter would receive for the encounter.

McGregor hasn’t competed since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 205, while Mayweather Jr. hasn’t competed since defeating Andre Berto by decision in November 2015.

There is also no rumored date for the fight set yet because McGregor stated before that he wouldn’t compete again until the birth of his first child.
