Daniel Bryan Talks Being Smackdown GM, CWC

Last month, Daniel Bryan returned to the WWE as he was announced by Shane McMahon as the new General Manager of Smackdown Live.

It is a new role for the former WWE champion and revealed what the hardest part of the role actually is.

“The hardest part actually is not the task of being the GM," Bryan told Fox Sports ahead of WWE Summerslam. It’s more so being around wrestling and not being able to actually wrestle. That’s the hardest part. The other stuff is …. I feel like I’m not the greatest general manager in the history of general managers, but I do OK and I’m learning as I go. I try to just do my best with it.”

Along with his role as GM, Bryan is also a commentator alongside Mauro Ranallo of the Cruiserweight Classic, which currently airs every Wednesday night on the WWE Network at 9 p.m. ET. Doing the show has Bryan doing some scouting and wouldn't mind seeing some of the cruiserweights on Smackdown Live.

“I would love that, there’s a couple guys that I would love to take right off the bat, Bryan told the website.  "Cedric Alexander had a great showing…. somebody, for example, like Tajiri. Everybody talks about – everybody who has tweeted me – has really been talking about how great Kota Ibushi and Cedric Alexander was, but Tajiri and Gran Metalik, and I never pronounce his name right, they had an awesome match too. And I would love for Tajiri or Gran Metalik to be on SmackDown.”

WWE Summerslam takes place on Sunday from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The main events features Brock Lesnar facing Randy Orton.
