Jon Jones' partying has led to his fair share of trouble in the past, well before UFC 200. As it turns out, Daniel Cormier's recent comments about it could have been right.
In an interview with MMA Fighting last week ahead of UFC 200, the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier said that his rival Jones was tiptoeing a dangerous line with his lifestyle.
“All the partying, all the other stuff, you have to pay for that, and now we’re seeing where, it’s starting to take a toll. It’s time for all the outlandish living and burning the candle at two ends, and now we’re getting to the middle where it starts to burn out. So that’s who he is today. He’s not the guy from before. He may be 28 years old, but in reality, he’s lived on this earth much longer with the long nights and all the other stuff he’s done,” said Cormier (transcript courtesy of MMA Fighting).
The current interim UFC Light Heayweight Champion Jones has already had a storied history with drugs, alcohol, partying, and consequences that have emerged from it. In May 2012, Jones was arrested for DUI after driving his Bentley Continental GT into a pole in New York. In January 2015, it was revealed that he'd tested positive for cocaine during an out-of-competition drug test. Finally, Jones was stripped of the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and suspended after being arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident. Jones would later plead guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. Jones then was pulled from UFC 200 after being flagged for a potential USADA violation.
Jones responded to Cormier's statements on Wednesday at the pre-fight press conference.
“I feel great. How can you convince someone that getting sober and living more healthy will make you older. I beat him in the prime of my partying. So, we’ll see. We’ll see who’s the 40-year old on Saturday,” said Jones.

UFC 200 takes place July 9 on pay-per-view from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Daniel Cormier will take on Anderson Silva in a non-title bout.
