Dean Ambrose: The Shield "Clicked Immediately" But "I've Made Way More Money Without Them"

Dean Ambrose was interviewed by the Huntington Herald-Dispatch to promote this weekend's Live Event in Huntington, WV, and he talked about his rough road before he got his big break with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in The Shield, and how he feels he's reached an even higher rung on the WWE ladder without them.

"It's tough in any line of work to get to the top," Ambrose said. "You can't quit when times get rough. Things are going to happen to you. You have to believe in your abilities to do the stuff and put your nose to the grindstone. I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. I've had an incredible journey. I love to do what I'm doing. I've been fortunate to travel the world. All kinds of memories, stories."

But when he, Rollins and Reigns debuted on the main roster in late 2013, they rocketed to the top of the WWE.

“They threw us right to the wolves. We clicked immediately. We'd go week to week. We’d figure it out, did a lot on the fly," said Ambrose. "It all worked out. It’s a means to an end. Three new guys come in and kick the door down. It’s very rare three personalities work like that. You could tell we resonated with people."

However, if you asked Ambrose if he's sorry that the Shield broke up, it seems the answer is ...

"I’ve made way more money, got a lot more things done, a lot more work without them.”

Too bad, so sad for all the Shield superfans out there, I guess.
