UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez have clashed twice before, with the flyweight champion winning both times.

According to Johnson, UFC President Dana White isn’t to interested in booking a third fight between the two.

“The UFC is all about making stars … I think they’re more about marketing and making stars and making compelling matchups. Not a lot of people are calling for the Joseph Benavidez third rematch. Dana White told me to my face, ‘I don’t want to see it again. There’s nothing there.',” says Johnson to MMA Junkie Radio.

Johnson will be defending the gold against Wilson Reis at UFC On Fox 24. The big concern that the UFC President has for the fight is what to do with Benavidez if he loses to Johnson for a third time.

“There’s a side of you that feels bad, and there’s a side of you that doesn’t,” Johnson said. “What if he loses for a third time? Does he just retire from the division? What do you do with him?”

UFC On Fox 24 takes place on Saturday, April 15 from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri with Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
