Demian Maia Says UFC Told Him To Stay Active Or Lose Title Shot

MMA

Demian Maia was thought to be next in line for a UFC Welterweight Title shot, but will be battling Jorge Masvidal at UFC 211 instead of competing for the gold.

The welterweight contender has been questioned about why he would fight Masvidal instead of waiting for a title shot. Maia would release a statement on his Facebook page and it talked about how the UFC brass told him to stay active of he could lose his title opportunity.
