Dolph Ziggler Talks The Miz's Rebirth

Despite the on-screen rivalry between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz, Ziggler has a ton of respect for him and he proved it in a recent interview.

In an interview with Centre Daily, Ziggler said that the Intercontinental Champion's rebirth has been astounding. Both men are from Cleveland and their friendship outside the ring has been well documented, with an episode of WWE Ride Along focused on the two of them being traveling partners.

"He's actually done pretty well for himself," Ziggler said. "The most important part of the rebirth of his career is basically (his wife) Maryse in his corner. It's easy to be distracted by her. But, he's done some great things here. Whether or not you like him, whether he's a bad guy or a good guy; the point is that he's held that title and brought some prominence back to it for 180 days or however long it is. Something has to give for me, and something has to give for him. If I get a chance to get a fair match, one on one, no strings attached, I feel like I am a thousand times better than him in the middle of the ring."

The two has had many battles in their careers, as recently as having two matches for the Intercontinental Title this month on SmackDown and at the Backlash pay-per-view.

The Miz’s latest reign as champion started when Maryse returned to WWE the night after WrestleMania 32 and helped The Miz defeat Zack Ryder to win Intercontinental Title.
