Donald Cerrone Re-Signs With UFC

He wasn't a free agent for long -- Donald Cerrone has re-signed with the UFC.

Donald Cerrone fought out his UFC contract last Saturday at UFC 202, and it paid off with a second round TKO of Rick Story. Just days after entering free agency, "Cowboy" is back with the UFC after signing a new 8-fight contract. MMA Junkie first reported the news Thursday.

Cerrone is on an insane streak, winning 11 of his last 12 fights. His only loss was a first round TKO against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on Fox 17 in December. Since then, Cerrone has went up to welterweight where he's gone unbeaten in three fights.

Despite being a free agent, Cerrone said repeatedly before and after the bout with Story that he planned on staying with the UFC. Not only that, even though he called out Eddie Alvarez for a potential title fight, Cerrone has already asked UFC President Dana White to fight Erick Silva in Brazil in September.

Bellator has signed several free agents away from the UFC, including Ben Henderson, Matt Mitrione, and Rory MacDonald, and noted that they would have interest in 'any' free agent.
