Edge and Christian give their opinion on "the best match" from WWE Survivor Series.
At WWE Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles met in a champion versus champion match. The two had never wrestled before in singles competition but had been involved in the same Royal Rumble match in 2016. On E & C's Pod of Awesomeness, the hosts Edge and Christian discussed the match and what they thought of the execution. Christian said the match met his expectations.
"The match I was looking forward to the most was the Brock/AJ match. It didn't disappoint. I thought it was the best match on the show," said Christian.
In the match, Brock Lesnar defeated AJ Styles via pinfall. Edge would explain how the match made both men look great.
"AJ and Brock, I really enjoyed. I loved that. With Brock's matches, it can go one of two ways. If he decides to, it can be amazing because he's super talented. If it's one of those deals where we're going to make it seem like this person isn't necessarily on this level, it can be ok," said Edge. "I was glad they treated AJ in the realm of 'he works anybody and it's going to be great,'" he added.
Both Edge and Christian said Lesnar did an exceptional job showing how he struggled to catch Styles before delivering an F-5 for the victory. Christian elaborated to say it allowed the audience to "be in the moment" instead of anticipating the end of the match.
On the podcast, Edge and Christian also discussed the other matches from WWE Survivor Series. They shared praise and criticisms for the matches involving The Shield, New Day, Sheamus, Cesaro, and The Usos.
