Edge Says 'Post-Headbutt' Kevin Owens Could Be A "Main Man" In WWE

Edge says Kevin Owens could follow Stone Cold's path.

On last week's Smackdown, Kevin Owens headbutted Vince McMahon. He had just been scheduled to face Shane McMahon at WWE Hell in a Cell in the pay-per-view's namesake match. On E & C's Pod of Awesomeness, Edge and Christian discussed the headbutt. Edge called it "the headbutt heard around the world" and Christian praised its simplistic nature and effectiveness. Then Edge questioned how it will affect Owen's trajectory in WWE.

"They built it throughout the show, which was great. It seems they are pulling the trigger on Owens, properly now. Not that he hasn't had almost every title in the company already. He's basically been champion the entire time he's been there. This is a next level kind of thing," said Edge. "I'm assuming he's main eventing the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view with Shane now. If anyone is the master of making sure people are put over in matches, it's Shane," he continued.

Edge was most interested in where Owens lands after his match against Shane McMahon.

"It will be interesting going forward after Hell in a Cell. It could be argued that just jumped the world title in terms of 'whoa,' in terms of interest," said Edge. "This can make Kevin a 'main man' basically," he added.

Edge then went on to speculate that Owens could play the villain who "kicks ass" for long enough that he becomes the hero. He made a comparison to Stone Cold Steve Austin who did that very thing. Edge also suggested Owens should "ugly it up" when it came to his wrestling style and become more of a "brawler."
