Eric Bischoff Calls Dolph Ziggler A '360 Performer'

Dolph Ziggler isn't necessarily the prototypical character you'd have expected an Eric Bischoff to push, but the former WCW personality says he's a fan.

Ziggler, who has had a roller coaster career in his WWE, but Eric Bischoff considers him a gifted talent. On the latest episode of Bischoff on Wrestling, Bischoff called Ziggler a '360 performer,' and put over Ziggler and Dean Ambrose's promos on Smackdown.

“I just dig Dolph Ziggler,” he said. “Never met him. Never shook his hand. Never had a beer with him. Anything. I follow him on Twitter. I watch his stuff on television. I’m aware of his background. He’s just, to me, kind of like a 360° performer. Meaning he just covers all the bases. He’s entertaining as hell. He’s quick witted. He gives great promos. Clearly he’s physically gifted. He understands the art. This is almost hard to explain because it’s almost an abstract feeling. To me, he gets it. He just gets it. I’d love to see a guy like that get an opportunity. I think we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg with a guy like Dolph Ziggler. Nothing against Dean Ambrose. They both had great promos on Smackdown. It created a sense of stakes. Which I think is a thing that is severely lacking. Anyone who has ever worked with me in creative knows that I believe strongly… like, I’ll fight over it, I’ll draw blood over it… I believe strongly in a three act structure. You need to have a beginning, a middle and an end. You have to craft it in a way that is entertaining but you also have to have stakes that are believable and relatable. What I took away from those promos they did this past Tuesday is that there is a mutual respect there but the stakes have transitioned from just being about the title to kind of the politics within the business. Which is believable. It’s relatable," Bischoff said.

Ziggler competes against Dean Ambrose tonight at Summerslam, which you can check out on the WWE Network. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of the show, including a post-show podcast.
