Eric Bischoff Questions Latest Brock Lesnar Segment

Eric Bischoff thinks that the latest Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman segment on Raw didn't take into account the reaction of the crowd in Minneapolis.

Bischoff, the former president of WCW and later part of WWE for several years as an on-screen authority figure, discussed the segment on the latest episode of his podcast, Bischoff On Wrestling. The segment in question occurred in Minneapolis, Lesnar's hometown, and although Heyman was verbally positioning his  "client" Lesnar as the heel heading into his main event at Survivor Series next month against the returning Goldberg. Instead the crowd took the opposite reaction, cheering Lesnar and chanting "Goldberg sucks."

I’m not going to suggest that I ever sat down and tried to create a structure for a story or a time line for a story and asked somebody to tell me where we were going to be playing this story out. In which city. I never did that. I wasn’t that smart and didn’t have that vision if you will. I was smart enough to know that there are occasions because every city has its own personality. It really does. There were occasions like if we knew we were going to Philadelphia in three or five months for TV or PPV we created our format because we knew we were going to be in front of an audience with a certain type of personality that was going to react a certain type of way. It was kind of predictable.”

Vince McMahon reportedly called for an early end to the segment because he was dissatisfied with the crowd reaction.

Survivor Series takes place November 20, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and will be headlined
