Exclusive: Alberto El Patron Thinks We Will See CM Punk In The Wrestling Ring More Than The Cage

When CM Punk announced he was signing with the UFC in Dec. 2014 after leaving the WWE in the beginning of that year, he kept reiterating that if he was going to get into mixed martial arts then it was going to be in the biggest MMA organization of the world.

Punk's debut occurred at UFC 203 in September but it didn't go his way as he lost to Mickey Gall by first-round submission. At the time, Dana White said it didn't appear likely Punk would have another fight in the company. Since then, the Chicago native's been campaigning for another fight but as of this moment, one hasn't been announced.

Many pro wrestling and MMA fans think the former WWE champion will not get back into the Octagon. It remains to be seen if that will be the case but a former WWE colleague feels his former partner-in-crime won't fight again.

"I don’t think Punk will fight again," former WWE champion and current Impact Wrestling star Alberto El Patron told Fightful. "He doesn’t have too. He saves his money wisely. He invested his money wisely so he really doesn’t have to do it again."

When Punk did leave WWE, it appeared unlikely he would never get back inside the ring. The fact was expounded when the pro wrestling giant released him on the day of his wedding to former Divas champion, AJ Lee in June 2014. Punk broke his silence in Nov. 2014 and stated he would never return to the sport which put him on the map. While he doesn't know anything, the Mexican wrestling superstar feels the odds favor a return to the squared circle than inside the cage.

"I think we will see CM Punk in the ring more than in the cage ever again," El Patron exclaimed.

Time will tell but, sound off. What do you guys think?
