Exclusive: Elias Theodorou Says Floyd Mayweather "Doesn't Give A Shit About Boxing" For Taking McGregor Fight

UFC fighter Elias Theodorou offered his take on Conor McGregor's chances of beating Floyd Mayweather come August 26.

Theodorou appeared on the "Holy Smokes MMA Podcast" and said McGregor has more than a puncher's chance to score a knockdown on Mayweather in the early going.

"It's a bold statement. I do have a couple of hundred dollars on each single round that he could potentially drop him, a knockdown not a knockout. I think Conor early has more than a puncher's chance in the first four rounds, maybe five. After that, Floyd's skills and experience will take over in the long term. Floyd is 40 years old so obviously, he will be the older fighter. At the same time, Conor is not fighting [Mike] Tyson and so he will walk away with $100 million. That's a win in anybody's eyes," Theodorou said.

As far as the boxing merits this fight holds, and whether or not the fight is an embarrassment to boxing, Theodorou had some choice words for Mayweather. Theodorou said Mayweather doesn't care about the sport for accepting a fight against someone who has never boxed professionally before.

"It would be [embarrassing] in some regard, but it wouldn't because again, [Floyd] is two years off. He's the smaller, older man and you can kind of see it. In order for Floyd to make this fight happen in the first place, it's embarrassing to boxing. It's a win for McGregor if he basically goes the distance. I think for [Floyd] to put together this fight proves he doesn't give a shit about boxing," Theodorou said.

The "Holy Smokes MMA Podcast" with "Showdown" Joe Ferraro and Sean Ross Sapp is live every Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. Theodorou's comments can be seen in the video above.
