EXCLUSIVE: Frank Trigg Says McGregor's Price Goes Up After Mayweather Fight

Frank Trigg says UFC will be challenged to get Conor McGregor back after a Floyd Mayweather fight.

Fightful MMA podcast host "Showdown Joe" Ferraro prompted Trigg about McGregor coming back because on Wednesday on the podcast Sean Pierson said McGregor would not come back. Trigg soundly agreed that a Mayweather fight might essentially price out UFC on getting McGregor back into the cage.

"Now you're looking at: What is the pay day going to be for McGregor? Lets say he takes a beating and he makes twenty-five million dollars, I could retire on that," said Trigg. "He'd have to lessen his life style, but we both can live on twenty-five million dollars. So say he gets twenty-five million dollars and takes a beating, and gets embarrassed. Would you come back to MMA if you've got twenty-five million in the bank?" Trigg asked.

Trigg says McGregor pulling off the upset would be even worse for UFC.

"Say he wins, let's say he beats Mayweather, and makes twenty-five million dollars, UFC is not paying him twenty-five million. Think about what we're saying here, he beats Mayweather, his demanding price is the price he just got," said Trigg.

Trigg argued UFC could not pay McGregor that much because it would increase the asking price for the other popular fighters. Even though Trigg gives McGregor no chance against Mayweather, he says McGregor can always shock the audience. In rest of the podcast, Trigg also would discuss Bellator's upcoming pay-per-view including the main event of Chael Sonnen versus Wanderlei Silva.

Trigg appears weekly on Fightful MMA's podcast to discuss current events in mixed-martial-arts.
