Exclusive: Matt Riddle On Wrestling for NJPW: "It's A Possibility. It Could Happen"

After Matt Riddle spoke with New Japan's Tiger Hattori back in early July, there was some speculation as to whether or not he would be wrestling for the company sometime in the near future.

"The King of Bros" made his much-anticipated return to Fightful on "The List & Ya Boy" podcast and addressed those rumors, saying that there is a possibility that he could wrestle for New Japan. Riddle is completely foreign to New Japan Pre Wrestling, as he has fought New Japan stars Tomohiro Ishii and Katsuyori Shibata.

"It's not 100 percent, but it's a possibility. It could happen," Riddle told Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp on the podcast.

While Riddle did not confirm if he would be competing for NJPW, he did say the talk with Hattori was very positive and that the Japanese promotion likes what they see in the EVOLVE star.

"It was broken English, but I don't think I can get into great detail. All I'm going to say is that it was all positive, all very positive. They like my look, my style and things were positive for sure," Riddle said.

Riddle was not in the United States during New Japan's recent tour in the United States for their G1 Special in USA shows, he was overall positive by the shows in Long Beach, California.

You can listen to the podcast in the video above. The segment with Riddle starts around 49:30 mark. "The List & Ya Boy" with Sean Ross Sapp and Fightful owner Jimmy Van is live on Fightful and on YouTube every Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET.
