Finn Balor Hasn't Been The Demon Recently Because He's Having Too Much Fun "Being Mr. Cool"

Finn Balor returned to RAW after WrestleMania and immediately tried to re-establish himself as a top contender for the title that he never lost--The Universal Championship. He didn't have a match at WWE Payback on April 30, and a Bray Wyatt feud was teased but never materialized, and when he had a shot to win the #1 Contendership in a Fatal Five Way at Extreme Rules, he passed out in old rival Samoa Joe's Coquina Clutch.

Some have wondered whether Balor's "Demon" persona, where he decorates himself in elaborate face and bodypaint, is a thing of the past, and if not, why didn't Balor choose to bring him out for that match at Extreme Rules?

The Elite: We're Getting AEW Back To What It Was Supposed To Be

Well, according to an interview Balor had with news.com.au, it seems that the Demon still exists, and Balor had a perfectly good excuse for not using him since he's been back: Finn likes his leather jacket too much.

“The Demon character is something I draw on occasion," he said. "It’s something that requires a lot of focus to tap into and really requires the right situation for me to sort of draw on that darker side of my personality. Since I’ve been back on Raw, the opportunity hasn’t really presented itself to tap into that side and I’ve had such a good time being back I haven’t wanted to change. I quite like walking out in my sweet new Balor club jacket. popping my collar and being Mr. Cool.”

Seems legit. Who among us doesn't like popping his collar and being Mr. Cool?

But don't worry. He hasn't given up on getting that Universal Title opportunity that he believes is owed to him, and maybe he won't even have to beat four other guys at the same time to do it.

“Perhaps considering the fact I never actually lost the Universal Title, maybe at some point, I’ll be granted a rematch — maybe against Samoa Joe or Brock Lesnar.”

And maybe, just maybe, the Demon will come out for that match ... if it ever happens.
