Floyd Mayweather Answers Back At Oscar De La Hoya's Negative Comments

Floyd Mayweather is focused on his upcoming fight against Conor McGregor, but has also been busy responding to many peers admonishing the fight, including one Oscar De La Hoya.

De La Hoya has been one of the biggest critics of the fight, repeatedly calling the Mayweather vs. McGregor. one that could ruin boxing. Mayweather recently responded back to De La Hoya's claims and said he only wants what is best for boxing. Both men are running their own boxing promotional company, with world champions fighting for each company.

“Oscar, I have nothing against you,” Mayweather said. “I wish Golden Boy the best. You have your company, I got Mayweather Promotions. All I want to do is continue to grow. Listen, all I want to is keep the sport of boxing alive. If you love boxing, or like any contact sport, any contact event, or if you like two warriors competing against one another, just tune in and watch boxing or watch MMA. Watch whatever you want or watch both.”

The two have been at odds for several years, stemming back to their fight back in 2007 when Mayweather narrowly defeated De La Hoya via split decision. Mayweather is fighting McGregor on August 26 in a boxing fight at light middleweight on Showtime pay-per-view.
