Former NFL Player Signed By WWE

WWE has signed former NFL player Brennan Williams to a deal.

We previously reported that Williams, whose ring name is Marcellus Black, could be on his way to the WWE, based on an Instagram post last week from one of his trainers, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. He had been training and competing at Booker T's Reality of Wrestling, where he made his in-ring deut back in February of this year.

Steve Maclin Confirms He's Re-Signed With TNA Wrestling

"Thank you to the ROW Nation last night! We had a packed crowd, and now we are full steam ahead to #SummerofChampions3. I want to thank Marcellus Black for everything you did for the ROW, now go become The Great Black Otaku of the WWE! Now can you dig that, SUCKA," Booker said in his post.

The 25-year old Williams is billed at 6'6", 317 pounds, and played for the Houston Texans in 2013. He was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft after a standout career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was signed to the New England Patriots for their practice squad, only to be released two days later.Williams started training shortly after his last NFL release and gained the attention of WWE in quick fashion.

This is not the first time that Reality of Wrestling has produced talent for WWE. The promotion's website said that it has trained former WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and WWE Tough Enough alums Andy Leavine and Ty Atchinson.
