Mada Abdelhamid, who was part of the most recent season of Tough Enough, revealed on Friday that he has asked for his release from WWE.
Abdelhamid posted the following on his Facebook page, announcing the news:
Family and friends,
I have recently made a tough decision and I have asked for my release from the WWE! It's been one hell of a journey since I started on Tough Enough... But I had to make a decision to do what's best for my family, and for myself. I wanted to thank you for your love and support... you guys are AWESOME!!!

Appearing as part of the cast for the season of Tough Enough that aired on the USA Network starting in January of 2015, Abdelhamid was eliminated from the reality competition on the sixth episode of the season. Later that year, WWE signed him to a developmental contract but he never appeared in a match at a live NXT event during his entire time at the Performance Center.
A native of Egypt, Abdelhamid had no wrestling background before making the Tough Enough cast; his previous background included a stint as a pro basketball player, as well as experience as an actor and a personal trainer.
Three members of Abdelhamid's season on Tough Enough remain under WWE contract: Daria Berenato, Mandy Rose, and Bronson Matthews, who won the competition.
