A pair of top 10 featherweights will collide at UFC 211 as #2 Frankie Edgar will be in action against #9 Yair Rodriguez.

Edgar (21-5-1) is a former UFC Lightweight Champion and he will be entering the fight having won six of his last seven fights under the UFC banner. Edgar won the UFC Lightweight Title by defeating BJ Penn by decision at UFC 112 and he would lose it to Ben Henderson at UFC 144. Edgar has previously challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title (twice) and the UFC Interim Featherweight Title, losing all three of those fights.

Rodriguez (10-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, with some notable wins coming over BJ Penn and Alex Caceres. Rodriguez also won the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, defeating Leonardo Morales in the finals of the reality show. Rodriguez hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over four years, with that defeat coming to Luis Roberto Herrera at Mexican Fighters Promotions 13 in December 2012.

Edgar entered UFC 205 on the last fight of his UFC deal, and was called out by Ricardo Lamas for a fight that ended up not coming to fruition.

UFC 211 takes place on Saturday, May 13 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Junior Dos Santos and Stipe Miocic headlining. Fightful will be providing live overage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
