Former UFC Fighter Gets WWE Tryout

A former UFC fighter is in Orlando for this week's WWE tryouts.

According to Squared Circle Sirens, Shayna Baszler is at the WWE Performance Center to participate in said tryouts. Fightful.com was able to verify the report with several sources.

The 36-year old Baszler is a member of the 'Four Horsewomen of MMA,' led by former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Fightful.com has been told that the WWE also is interested in former UFC fighter Jessamyn Duke, who is a member of the group. The remaining 'horsewoman' is Marina Shafir, who dated Roderick Strong.

Duke and Rousey appeared at AIW Bloodsport earlier this month, as Baszler captured the promotion's women's championship. Baszler has competed for SHIMMER and STARDOM. Baszler has trained under the likes of UFC Heavyweight Josh Barnett, and legendary catch wrestler Billy Robinson. Baszler hasn't competed in MMA since last year, where she lost to eventual Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. LaFlare.

Earlier this year, ROH World Champion Adam Cole told me that he's flat out offered to train Duke in pro wrestling. As always, we're told WWE retains a great amount of interest in working with Rousey in the future.
