GSP Says He's Coming Back For A Run, Talks Dana White's Comments

With each passing week, George St-Pierre's return comes into focus more.

St-Pierre and the UFC have went back and forth in recent months, with GSP claiming he wants to make a return to the cage. UFC President Dana White has said he'll believe it when he sees it, something that many consider to be a negotiating ploy or tactic. When speaking to UFC Tonight, the former welterweight champ said that he and the UFC have been having issues coming to terms, and that there are some misconceptions regarding his return.

"I'm making a lot of money now, even though I'm not fighting. My contract was made before the Reebok deal. If I go back, I can't have any advertisements, so I'm losing money under the old terms of my contract. They know the terms that I want. I'm a reasonable man. I never retired. A lot of things have changed since then. I'm having a lot more fun since then. I want to be back for another run, I don't want to be back for one fight," GSP explained.

UFC Tonight Kenny Florian mentioned that GSP is eligible to fight on December 10, a night that UFC is booked for Toronto. GSP wouldn't say if he was competing on that night, but mentioned some names he'd like to take on.

I would fight Tyron Woodley, Nick Diaz, (Demian) Maia looked good in his last fight," GSP said. "These guys can elevate me. They’re not necessarily guys I’m supposed to beat…To get far in this game, it’s not about who’s got the biggest balls. It’s a straight line. You’ve got to know who you’ve got to beat.”

Regarding Dana White's claims that St-Pierre doesn't actually want to return? The sure-fire Hall of Famer didn't take too kindly to that.

"He doesn’t know anything about me. I’m a smart guy," St-Pierre said. "I’m not the kind of guy who (grunts) and says 'Let me sign. Oh I’m going to fight for peanuts!' Let me fight once and you’ll see in the first minute of the fight that he’s wrong. Let me fight Tyron Woodley then. We’ll see if I don’t want to be champion again.”
