On a recent podcast appearance, Bobby Lashley reiterated he had a good experience working with President Donald Trump in WWE.
Back in 2007, Trump cornered Lashley against Umaga (led by Vince McMahon) in the "Battle of the Billionaires" at WrestleMania 23, where Trump and McMahon both put their hair on the line.
Lashley has talked about working with Trump before and, on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, he maintained his positive opinion of Trump.
"He's awesome," Lashley said. "Hate me now, he's awesome. With him, I've been asked a lot about this, of course now because [of] everything that's going on. … A lot of people ask me about it and I said, look, to be honest with you, I'm just going to tell you, when he came on, he's not a racist. I hate to burst your bubble, but he's not a racist."
Lashley also praised Trump's approach when the build to the WrestleMania match began, saying as follows:
"A lot of people when they come into the wrestling business, like a celebrity or something like that, you want to know what they want to do. With Donald … he didn't come in and start pushing his way around. He came in and said, what can I do? How can I help? How can I make this better? He didn't tell me how to run the match. He didn't tell Vince how to run the show. He didn't tell Stone Cold how to ref. … He said, I can help. How can I help? Tell me how I can help."
