A pair of heavyweights are set to collide at next months UFC On Fox 24 card as #11 Alexander Volkov is taking on Roy Nelson.
Volkov (27-6-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Timothy Johnson by split decision at UFC Fight Night 99. Volkov is a former Bellator MMA Heavyweight Champion, defeating Rich Hale by first round TKO at Bellator 84 to win the belt. Volkov will be entering the fight riding a three fight winning streak.
Nelson (22-13-0) has won two of his last three fights under the UFC banner, defeating both Jared Rosholt and Antonio Silva, while suffering a defeat to Derrick Lewis. Nelson is also the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 10, defeating Brendan Schaub in the finals of the reality show. Nelson will be competing on his first UFC On Fox card.
UFC On Fox 24 takes place on Saturday, April 15 from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri with Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
