Tonight’s UFC Fight Night Japan card is going to be moving on with one less fight because Mizuto Hirota has been pulled from the event.

The UFC stated that Hirota was pulled from the card due to health concerns after barely being able to weigh-in yesterday.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Officially Announced For UFC 303, Will Take Place At Welterweight

Here is the full statement from the UFC on the matter:

“Due to health and safety concerns, the UFC featherweight bout Hirota vs. Rosa at UFC Fight Night Japan: Saint Preux vs. Okami has been cancelled, as Hirota was deemed unfit to compete by the UFC medical team.

UFC Fight Night Japan: Saint Preux vs. Okami will proceed as scheduled with 10 bouts at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Moving to the main card will be the flyweight bout between Jussier Formiga and Ulka Sasaki.”

Charles Rosa was supposed to fight Hirota and he has obviously been pulled from the card as well because the UFC has no time to find a replacement opponent for him to fight.

A flyweight division bout between Jussier Formiga and Ulka Sasaki has been moved from the FXX portion of the preliminary card to the main card. Also, a bout between Daichi Abe and Hyun Gyu Lim has been moved from the UFC Fight Pass portion of the preliminary card to the FXX portion of the preliminary card.

UFC Fight Night Japan takes place on Friday, September 22 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Ovince St. Preux and Yushin Okami headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on FXX.
